“ Clean the Mac”

Sunday, April 27, 2025
A clean-up/social event, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

In support of Earth Day MRANA is organizing a clean-up event along Macaulay Road. Volunteers will be asked to pick up plastic, bottles, and other rubbish left or thrown from vehicles into our ditches*.
  • Volunteers are asked to sign up for a kilometre length of Macaulay Road to clean up.
  • We will meet at Macaulay Heights Park at 1:00 PM for assigned kilometres and pick up supplied garbage bags, gloves, etc.
  • MRANA directors have organized a truck to pick up the bagged garbage along the road.
  • Other volunteers have been asked to help with traffic calming during this event.
  • Return to the park by 3:00 PM for refreshments
******Please email or call Kim at: macaulayroadana@gmail.com or 250-703-3790 to sign up! *******
We need lots of volunteers so please ask friends and family to help out! More details to follow.
* The average number of vehicles using Macaulay Road is 2,200 per day, counted by MoTI in June 2022.
** 2024 was our first year to Clean the Mac. A surprising amount of trash was picked up; the dumped weight came to 260kg or 573 lbs . Twenty MRANA members and friends picked up trash from our roadside ditches and it was taken to the landfill.
