Bear Creek Nature Park sign

Bear Creek Park

By Catherine Davidson on October 19, 2021October 19, 2021

Bear Creek Park – located at 2700 Macaulay Road – beautiful trails fronting the Oyster River and in second-growth forest lands, some hills, good trails, and horse trailer parking.

History of the Park – Qualicum Farms Ltd. purchased the Bear Creek Nature Park property from the University of British Columbia in 2006.  In 2010, Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), in partnership with the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) and in conjunction with the landowner and other private parties, agreed to a combination of purchase and donation of the property. The donation was certified as an ecological gift under the Ecological Gifts program administered by Environment Canada.

The Oyster River Enhancement Society operates a hatchery within the park.
