Earth Day “ Clean the Mac”

Sunday, April 21, 2024
A clean-up/social event, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

To support Earth Day MRANA is organizing a clean-up event along Macaulay Road. Volunteers will be asked to pick up plastic, bottles, and other rubbish left or thrown from vehicles into our ditches*.

  • Director Rick Skrzyzala is organizing this event and asks volunteers to sign up for a kilometre length of Macaulay Road to clean up.
  • We will meet at Macaulay Heights Park at 1:00 PM for assigned kilometres and pick up supplied garbage bags, gloves, etc.
  • MRANA directors will organize a truck and trailer to pick up the bagged garbage along the road
  • Other volunteers have been asked to help with traffic calming while this event is in progress.
  • Return to the park by 3:00 PM for chili and refreshments

Please email or call Rick at: richardjs@telus.net or 250-702-4532 to sign up!  We need lots of volunteers so please ask friends and family to help out!  More details to follow.

* The average number of vehicles using Macaulay Road is 2,200 per day, counted by MoTI in June 2022.
