Macaulay Heights and One Spot North Parking Hub Project
Suzanne Sawyer, Chair of the Macaulay Roads and Area Neighbourhood Association (MRANA) presents CVRD Area C Director Edwin Grieve with a cheque for $8,193.22 to develop the initial stages of the Macaulay Heights and One Spot North Parking Hub project.
MRANA was a recipient of a British Columbia Vision Zero in Road Safety for Vulnerable Road Users grant funded through the BC Brain Injury Research Centre (Island Health). These grant funds will be assigned to develop a parking hub off of Macaulay Road for vehicles and horse trailers using Macaulay Heights Park and the One Spot North Trail in Black Creek.
The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) planned and designed this parking hub, and with the grant funding received through MRANA, the initial stages will be developed. Suzanne Sawyer commented that “MRANA is very pleased that the CVRD will undertake this project to provide off-road parking in a safer area for our park users. Turning into the parking hub will be in a safer location for vehicles and horse trailers providing better access to these beautiful trails.”
Macaulay Road and Area Neighbourhood Association is a registered not-for-profit society that advocates for road safety and better access for members and residents using Macaulay Road.
