MRANA is hosting a Wildfire Preparedness Event!

May 3, 2025 – 1 – 3 pm

Bear Creek Park, 2700 Macaulay Road, Black Creek

Enter the draw for a Fire Extinguisher, and a First Aid Kit – winners to be drawn from everyone who pays us a visit at this event!

  • Find our tent in the upper parking lot – you won’t miss it 🙂
  • Oyster River Fire Rescue will talk about Firesmart and how to Firesmart your home and property
  • Comox Valley Emergency Management Staff will talk about the Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program and Processes
  • Horse Council BC’s Sharon Pickthorn will provide information on their disaster preparedness programs
  • Ask questions about processes for potential wildfires in our neighbourhood!
  • Draw for prizes and Giveaways to all those attending!  Bring your kids and dogs!

Wildfire Community Preparedness Day events help raise awareness of wildland fires and bring residents of all ages together to work on projects to prepare their homes, neighbourhoods and communities.

FireSmart™ Canada, in collaboration with the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction, Co-operators, and the provincial and territorial wildland fire management agencies, is pleased to support this annual event in Canada.
