SOCIETY ACT OF THE PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
CONSTITUTION OF THE MACAULAY ROAD AND AREA NEIGHBOURHOOD
ASSOCIATION
1) The name of the Society is MACAULAY ROAD AND AREA NEIGHBOURHOOD
ASSOCIATION.
2) The purpose of the Society is to promote, facilitate, co-ordinate, or support
improvements to the Macaulay Road neighbourhood, and to provide a vehicle for
public participation in the preservation and enhancement of the rural qualities
which have come to characterize the Macaulay Road neighbourhood;
a) to work with the appropriate jurisdictional authorities to address traffic issues in
the Macaulay Road neighbourhood including access, volume, speed, congestion,
parking and safety;
b) to advocate for safer road conditions for pedestrians, cyclists, equestrians and
other non-motorized vehicles;
c) to support the needs of residents and make recommendations to the appropriate
jurisdictional authorities for action;
d) to maintain active communication with the CVRD and the BC provincial
authorities and act as a liaison to the area residents;
e) to offer a venue for social interaction and support. i.e. contact information, local
resources and activities, etc.
f) to advocate for safety and security for the Macaulay neighbourhoods in areas
such as: road access, fire safety, crime watch, emergency transportation etc.
g) to advocate for and safeguard green-space and rural features and to support
residents rights to clean air, freedom from noise and light pollution, and personal
safety.
