Pinecrest Bike Skills Park

By Catherine Davidson on February 4, 2024

Pinecrest Bike Skills Park – 3800 Pinecrest Road

Approximately eight kilometres up Macaulay Road, turn right on Doyle Road and then left on Pinecrest Road. The bike skills park is halfway up Pinecrest Road on the right.

The park was created at the time of subdivision in 1990. During the summer of 2001, a portion of the park was cleared, a road access off Pinecrest Road was constructed, a park gate was installed and a few jump lines were formed by a contractor. The park users from the neighbourhood were encouraged to maintain the jumps. In spring of 2016 the bike skills park, natural playground, entrance sign and trailhead signs were completed and the park was opened to the public with a grand opening in June 2016. Work continues to be done to improve the jump lines and pump tracks.

The Pinecrest Bike Skills Park appeals to all ages and skill levels and includes a variety of natural features. Those features include intermediate and advanced jump tracks, a pump track for intermediate to advanced riders, as well as an all ages forested pump track consisting of berms, rollers and log features.

A playground exists which includes swings and other natural features for younger park users. Pinecrest Park has a permanent outhouse pit toilet and also consists of an additional two acres of undeveloped natural forest. An undeveloped, dedicated road bounds the eastern side of the park.
