Earth Day “ Clean the Mac”

A clean-up/social event
To support Earth Day, MRANA organized a clean-up event along Macaulay Road. Volunteers were asked to pick up plastic, bottles, and other rubbish left or thrown from vehicles into our ditches*.
* The average number of vehicles using Macaulay Road is 2,200 per day, counted by MoTI in June 2022.
Before we headed out, we took a few minutes to unveil a new bench plaque honouring our former Director, Rick Skrzyzala, who passed away last year. Sandwiches and snacks were available to fuel us before we began.
Small Planet Energy once again sponsored a clean‑up contest, offering over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Our MRANA team proudly won 3 gift certificates for Whale Watching tours this year!
