A clean-up/social event
- We’re doing it again, and we NEED YOUR HELP…
To support Earth Day, MRANA is organizing a clean-up event along Macaulay Road. Volunteers will be asked to pick up plastic, bottles, and other rubbish left or thrown from vehicles into our ditches*.
- 12:00 Sandwiches and plaque unveiling
- 12:30 Assigning sections to each group
- 3:00 Road cleanup complete, and Volunteer Pickup takes away bags from the side of the road
- Return to the Macaulay Heights Park to enter our prize draw and let us know how it went!
Please email, text, or call Kim: macaulayroadana@gmail.com or 250-702-4532 to sign up! We need lots of volunteers, so please ask friends and family to help out!
* The average number of vehicles using Macaulay Road is 2,200 per day, counted by MoTI in June 2022.
Before we head out, we’ll take a few minutes to unveil a new bench plaque honouring our former Director, Rick Skrzyzala, who passed away last year. Sandwiches and snacks will be available to fuel us before we begin.
Macaulay Heights Park at 1 PM; we’ll hand out road section assignments, provide environmentally friendly garbage bags, and start our assigned sections. Please bring your own gloves; grabbers are helpful if you have them. After completing your section, take part in a draw for our giveaway prizes.
Small Planet Energy is once again sponsoring a clean‑up contest, offering over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Our MRANA team proudly won 3rd place and $750 in 2024—let’s see what we can do this year!
